Yes, I know, it has been a whole week since I spoke with all of you.

I see that the last time I was here, I was spilling my guts about a guilty pleasure that I sometimes induge in.  In case you didn’t know, I divulged those secret habits for the sake of winning a photography contest (which, by the way, I got runner up in.)  I am super – excited as the prize I received was a set of mentoring sessions with some really great photographers based out of Canada.  I am looking forward to this opportunity to learn more in the areas of maternity, newborn, and baby photography.

So, it could have been the contest ~ sucking every last bit of creative energy out of me ~ or maybe something else has kept me from this sweet blog of mine.  Maybe it was the fact that in the past three days, I have gone through three boxes of Kleenex, a bottle of NyQuil, and several cans of chicken soup ~ all in the hopes that the intense head cold I was fighting would disappear.  My nose is raw, and my eyes are tired, but I think my body is starting to pick up the fight and we may be in the lead now.  (Thanks, of course, to my wonderful husband whom let me spend the weekend in bed – minus the moments, of course,  when football was on.)

Or maybe, the reason that I have so distracted from my writing, is that my beautiful, and oh-so colorful “photographer” hat had to be laid aside and replaced by my worn-out, missing pieces, peanut-butter -smelling “mother of five” bonnet.  This week has been a constant stream of Christmas recitals, programs, and events.  Each child had their own activites to attend, and I, exhausted as I was, had the great pleasure of watching each of my children be . . .

Congratulations, Isaiah, on your first band concert.
