Best of Weddings 2010

This is the love of a mother . . . i guess.

As many of you know, I have been on a short maternity leave – what I like to call my period of hibernation.

My mother was oh so kind to come and help pick up the slack while I locked myself in my room.

She cooked, cleaned, folded laundry, sent the kids out to play, etc., and this is what I did . . . Montana Photographer

I slept.

and slept…

and slept . . . .

After my mother went home, I made a comment on facebook about how I wish my hibernation didn’t have to end.  My mother sent me this picture.  Wasn’t that nice?  I thought you would all enjoy it as much as she did.

So here we are – BACK TO WORK.

Already we have  had the opportunity to take some super fun and beautiful images for a couple expecting their first baby, some newborn shots, and wedding season has already begun.  I can’t wait to show you some of those fantastic images.

First things first, though.

While in my bed, I thought a lot about this past year.  I thought about moments I loved, and things I so wanted to improve on.  I began to look over the images of the past year, and I was pleasantly surprised at many of the images.  I have learned so much since I began shooting weddings three years ago.  I learned so much about composition, about light, about breathing and keeping a steady hand.  I did look through the images and see so many that I wanted to improve on – where my trigger finger had been a second too soon or a second too late; where the lighting wasn’t quite right, and where the pose just wasn’t the most flattering.  Over all, though, when I went to choose some of my favorites, I again had a very difficult time.  I think it is because when we are shooting a wedding the bride and groom have become my friends, and when I look at the pictures, they are all so important to me now.  With all that said, it is time for our best of weddings blog contest.  Last year, was our first, and we awarded the winners, Mike and Heather Hale an 11×14 gallery wrap to hang in their new home.  This year, we had many more sessions, and I have decided to hold two contests – one for best of weddings, and one for best of moments (families, maternity, seniors, babies, etc.)  Their will be one winner in each category.  The contest will end January 24, and the winners this year will recieve a 16×20 float wrap!    So, now, I have posted a SMALL selection of my favorites, for YOU to choose YOUR favorite!  Again, the WINNER of the competition will receive a free 16×20 float wrap of THEIR favorite photo from their wedding or session!  YEAH!

Now, all you need to do is pick your favorite from the favorites.  You vote by clicking on the “contact us” button above and sending me an e-mail (info@patchworkphotography.com) with the number of your favorite picture inside.    Remember, there are two contest going on right now, so please  Just make sure you say which category you are voting for — Best of Moments or Best of Weddings.  (You can have one vote for each contest!)  We will tally up the votes, and declare a winner, all in time forValentines Day!  We are spreading the love this year.  So, tell all your family and friends to get to voting, and GOOD LUCK.  Now, let’s look!
