I think they are my favorite.  Don’t get me wrong!  I love weddings . . . A LOT!  If I had to choose an absolute favorite though . . . . I would choose hot fudge . . . I would choose cheddar cheese and Doritos . . .  I would choose taking engagement pictures.  This is where couples really get to express themselves, share their story, take time to kiss . . . and kiss some more!  They don’t have to worry about who is watching.  They don’t have to worry about time schedules or clothes!  They just get to be themselves.  They get to share their story.  They get to tell me about their first date.

Tell me about your first date:

~

In her own words, “We went to Chuckie Cheese- I had never been there, so Aaron took it upon himself to share the experience with me.

We had some luke warm pizza, played some games with sticky handles, and had a delightful time.

We didn’t really start dating for two years or so after that, but it was a solid foundation.”

When visiting with couples about their engagment pictures, we talk about things they enjoy doing together.  What makes them unique as a couple.

~

We take their story, search their wardrobes . . . second hand stores . . . or whip out the credit card in order to find the perfect outfits that would help express it!  Sometimes, though, it’s not about the clothes.  It’s about the accessories!  Old suitcases!  Frames!  A cigarette.  Sometimes its the shoes.  Sometimes its the ring.

We take those things.  We take those things, and hit the road!

~

Rivers.  Streets.  Old buildings.  Doorways.  Trees.  Lakes.  Rocks.  Libraries.  Ice cream shops.

~

Anywhere and everywhere . . . searching for the perfect backdrop that screams, “THIS IS US!!!  THIS IS OUR STORY!!!  THIS IS OUR ADVENTURE!!!”

Meet Aaron and Jennifer.

Their story could only be expressed with a bit of flare.

Easy going.  Funny.  Beautiful.  Smart.

~

add a little pizzaz, a little spark of adventure, a whole lot of sexy, and hint of romance . . .

In the beginning was a boy . . .
In the beginning was a girl . . .

~

They each had a story to tell.  They each traveled along their own road . . . sometimes he would stop along the way to enjoy moments of star wars, outdoor rock concerts, and butterfingers.

She, on the other hand, traveled down a much different path, where her luxury stops consisted of floating rivers, reading books, and peanut butter cups . . .

Each of their stories was their own – filled with adventure and joy, heartache and wandering.

Somewhere along the way . . . this boy . . . and this girl . . . crossed paths.

~

They discovered they had something to give.  They learned there was something they needed.

They decided that life would be lived best . . . traveling down the same road.
