I remember meeting Katherine and Deshawn at an open house for the Windmill Winery almost a year ago. (We simply love this beautiful Florence wedding venue, because it actually has two wedding venues with barns on the property.  It is also a fabulous Arizona wedding venue to get heartfelt and fun wedding pictures.)

However, what stood out the most about this couple was the entourage of friends and family that were following them around. The open house allowed them to do much of the wedding planning in one afternoon, because they were all visiting from California. They got to tour the property together, taste cake, meet florists, and talk to some of the best wedding caterers in Arizona.  They all seemed to be having so much fun laughing and sharing together, and I whispered to Stefan, “We HAVE to be a part of this wedding!”  Stefan and I just love family, so it was so beautiful to see this family supporting and encouraging this couple.  

The love and support that we witnessed that day continued over the months following, and when the day finally came, we were blown away as we watched it shower down on them!

Katherine and Deshawn’s day was absolutely perfect, and this entire experience was more than we could have ever hoped for! It was such an honor to be trusted with capturing this intimate Arizona wedding. I have been DYING to show you these images, because they are just so incredibly beautiful!!!! 

Windmill Winery: The Lake House

There are SO MANY reasons why we absolutely love this venue.  The Windmill Winery is an oasis in the desert for sure.  Around every corner there is another pocket of beauty waiting to be found.  Trees line the waterfront, flowers and cactus border the walkways, and as the sun sets, twinkling lights dance in the distance.   

The amazing landscape creates intimate spaces for couples to spend time together. This was exactly what Katherine and Deshawn were looking for.  They each read love notes to one another before the ceremony.  This allowed them to keep the tradition of not seeing one another before the ceremony, but allowed them time to be alone before all their guests arrived.
