Today I am thankful for so many things. Family, laughter, really good red wine, friends that make your heart hurt to be away from, the weather, pumpkin rolls with cream cheese frosting, the beauty of individuality, cactus that bloom into beautiful flowers once a year . . . the list goes on and on.
As I sit here this morning, reflecting on even the tiniest things that I am thankful for, I am overwhelmed and oh-so-grateful for this thing called love. Love shows up in so many ways. You can find it in a hug, in a look, in a kind word, or in a piece of art. It shows up when mommas snuggle their babies, or daddy’s teach their kids take care of their toys. You see it when someone shares their seat on the bus or offers a glass of water to a stranger.
Personally, I enjoy it the most when love peaks out to me when my husband kisses me in the morning . . . and at night . . . when I have been kind to him . . . and when I have been super crabby . . .when I make him his favorite cookies . . . and when I go for days (or weeks) without cooking a thing. Through the highs and through the lows, my husband is so good about continuing to kiss me in the morning and before we go to bed, letting me know that in it all, he still loves me.
That is what love looks like to me. Today, Thanksgiving 2017, that is what I am most thankful for.
Two weeks ago, we had the amazing honor to be a part of a wedding celebration between two people that were OVERFLOWING with love. Everything about John and Betilu’s wedding was done because of love, was created in love, and shared to love. Good friends came to be a create with their bobby pins and make up brushes. Songs were sang and words of encouragement were given by people whom knew them the best. Through their “dating days,” Betilu saved all the roses John ever gave her and they were used to decorate the reception tables. For months this couple, spent hours and hours planning their wedding together, working together, creating together, and dreaming together. The whole day from start to finish was an act of love that we feel so very blessed to be able to share with you.
Today, Thanksgiving 2017, I am thankful for John and Betilu.
