pink ribbons and tutu’s. . .

Oh how I am loving my new studio space!  If you haven’t had a chance to come and see it, it is soooo soooo fun!

Many of you who know me, know that I have been dreaming about this space for oh-so-long!!!

When I first started taking pictures, I had one day a week where I would leave the house to spend time practicing, reading and learning, and trying to master some photo editing techniques.  Well, most of this time was spend behind the computer screen at a table in a local coffee shop, the Sweetwater.  Sara, the owner of the shop, was oh so gracious to allow me to sit there for most of the day.  I would drink coffee, and she would bring me fresh water and sometimes let me taste her newest cookie recipes.  All these days were spent working – and dreaming of the building across the street.  I would dream of its possibilities.  It has huge huge windows – perfect for a natural light photography studio!  Sometimes I would whisper my dream out loud to those who walked by . . . but mostly, I kept it tucked away . . . and now, here I am!!!

One group of people whom I know are going to benefit the most from this space are those new moms and their sweet tiny babies!   I love love love to shoot in peoples homes – where moms can be close to their own things, their favorite blankets, their comfortable chairs, but sometimes moms – especially new moms – are a tad reluctant to let  just anyone in their home . . . days after that new baby has come.  And now we have a great space to accomodate them.  It is soooo warm and the light is so amazing!  So, if you have a newborn, or know someone who has just had a baby – this could be the perfect time, the perfect gift, to come get those first precious days recorded in some fun ways!  Those tiny toes don’t stay tiny for too long . . .even their skin is different within the first ten days!  They change so quickly!

Meet Harper Lynn.  She was the first sweet baby to make an appearance and the Studio!

She was just a doll, and here are a few of my favorites from our time together.  Enjoy.
