When I get a bad case of nostalgia or severe boredom, I start digging through my mother’s closet and looking at her old photo albums. There are pictures of her young adult life, my brother’s and my early childhood and of course, the occasional naked baby photograph. It only dawned on me a few weeks ago, that I have never seen a photograph of my parent’s wedding.

My mother speaks of the lacy dress she borrowed from her older sister and the blue hydrangeas they plucked from the neighborhood gardens. I can imagine my father’s tall body towering over hers as they said their vows. But I’ve never seen the photographs. And I probably never will. My parents divorced many years ago, and while wedding pictures seem so trivial in this thing called life, they are so important. These pictures are so precious to not only you and your future spouse, but to your families and your future children. Having a wedding album may not seem vital to you, but you never know who might cherish it later.

I started thinking about wedding albums in general, and how I cannot wait to see myself in them one day. These photos, even when I don’t know the couple personally, inspire me and make me yearn for the type of love that is conveyed through the picture. In all wedding albums, you can see the start of a magical, romantic journey that is special and beautiful, unique to every couple. They are the eternal proof that your love exists. You can see it in his eyes as she walks down the aisle, you can see it in her smile as they dance, and in they way they hold each other dearly as the night comes to a close. And with these photos, you get to relive it again and again, each time experiencing the same excitement and joy that you felt on that day.

Your wedding album tells a story. The story of the beautiful princess and her Prince Charming. The story of two souls finding each other in this infinite universe and knowing that together they make one. However you want your story to be told, it is yours. Just you and your loved one. No one else will be able to duplicate it, because it is only yours.

No matter your type of wedding or the kind of ceremony, choose to honor this day by taking photographs. Do it so that you can revisit every emotion and memory you had during your special day. Do it for your parents so that they can have a stunning picture on the mantel. And do it for your children, because your wedding is the start of their story too.

Nathan and Carly chose to have their exquisite album bound in a very class black leather. The images that you see above, are the actual album pages handmade with flush-mounted photographic prints.
They are then bound into an elegant album with a perfect cover to match your wedding and style!
Congratulations, again, to these two lovebirds!
