. . . why patchwork photography? . . .

every time i send an e-mail, i wonder why in the world i chose such a long name to represent our photography business . . .

every time i am talking with someone, and they ask, “patrick photography?” and i have to answer “no. PATCHWORK – like a quilt,” i wonder, what was i thinking . . .

maybe it was the season of life i was in – that season when i baked a lot . . . home schooled my children . . . tried my hand at sewing (if you know me . . . that might have given you a chuckle! ha!)

it doesn’t take me long to remember, though . . .

when i am looking through a series of pictures from a recent session, i don’t think i can escape it . . .

then i remember

i remember that i started to take pictures to tell a story

i didn’t decide to use paper and pen

i didn’t decide to stand up and speak

i decided to let my images do the talking
